Taking it Back

2021

Acrylic Paints

"Taking it Back" was inspired by the coronavirus pandemic. The government has ordered some businesses to be closed due to being "non-essential" and for safety reasons. That includes amusement parks, entertainment venues, etc. School campuses were closed, and their learning has been switched to online. But for now, we are rolling back because coronavirus vaccines are now distributed all over the US. As more and more Americans are getting vaccinated and the cases of this virus are slowing down, we are now taking back the moment where everything was before.

And finally, the right image portrays the recent shooting tragedy that happened in Monterey Park. All of these significant events happened during or close to Lunar New Year which led to questioning whether we should gather and celebrate this holiday or not.
